Sozo Home is a safe place where we love and honor Jesus in every way. We give Him all the praise and glory for the countless blessings bestowed upon us. Sozo Home has been called to reach the unreachable, to love the unlovable, and to restore not just one person but generations by providing shelter for men and women during difficult or transitional times in their life. Most importantly, we strive to create a safe atmosphere where each person is able to seek a close and constant relationship with our Lord and Savior through prayer, Bible study and fellowship. In a world full of uncertainty and hopelessness we believe in a future because we know the one who holds the future. It is our life’s mission to live in communion with Him to discover purpose and identity in Him.
On March 1, 2013, the Lord opened the doors of Sozo Home on 1st Street, in Kerrville, Texas. We remember the day that John and Suzanne Keys offered their home to our ministry rent free. Before that, the Sozo Home vision—to help addicted men and women find God’s “sozo life” (to be saved, healed, and delivered)—only existed in our hearts, a calling from God.
Since then, Sozo Home has evolved in countless ways—and us along with it. We have welcomed over 250 men and women into the Home: Meth addicts, heroin addicts, alcoholics, and people suffering with all kinds of mental afflictions who have been transformed by the powerful touch of God. We have witnessed miracle after miracle. God has supernaturally delivered heroin addicts cold turkey with little or no withdrawal symptoms and alcoholics who do not go into detox. To God’s glory, all this happens without the need of any medications.
We know that physical withdrawal is only the beginning of change in an addict’s life. But the first step in the process of renewing each individual's mind is to be transformed into His image. God and the Holy Spirit are always present in Sozo Home. Where else could you find Mexican Mafia members, Arian Brothers, and other gang members living together and not having conflict?
When these men and women are sozo-ed it is truly a beautiful thing to witness. Seeing the transformation from darkness into light and smiles appearing on their faces as they fall in love with Jesus is priceless.
On September 2017, after much prayer, we leased a second home (we are now leasing to buy): Sozo West. At that time, we had 6 people in residential treatment and today we have 14, plus 6 people at our 1st Street home. Throughout the day, we gather residents of both homes for prayer, Bible study and fellowship. In God’s timing, we hope to expand to make additional room for the numerous men and women who call weekly looking for a safe place to receive ministry and help. Sozo Home is that place where they can experience the transforming power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We believe that there is one true God, existing in three as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts and draws sinners to Christ and imparts new life to them.
We believe; Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He was crucified, died and was buried. On the third day He rose from the dead and later ascended to heaven, where He remains at the right hand of God Almighty.
We believe; there is eternal life in Jesus Christ.
We believe; that the dead in Christ will rise first, and those who are alive shall be caught up in the heavens.
We believe; The Bible was completely written and inspired by God.
We believe; Faith is acting on the Word of God.
We believe; in water baptism in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
We believe; in the authority of Jesus' name.
We believe; in the infilling of the Holy Spirit
We believe; in divine healing – to restore to health those who believe and act on the truths written in God's Word. We further believe that Jesus is our Healer by the transforming power of His resurrection.
We believe; in giving God our first fruits.
